Sitting in my backyard with my cousin, exploring each other’s lives on a cloudy evening, we concluded that we both were not enjoying our workplaces. We both wanted to earn good money, and even we were satisfied with our jobs in monetary terms. But still, we did not want to be part of our respective organizations. We felt dull and dumb there. The work there was challenging and was up to our potential. We grew with our organizations professionally as well as personally. And, that was the solid reason which was obstructing us from giving up those systems.

After talking for a few hours on this matter, we realized that everything was going fine and satisfactory around us, yet we were not feeling happy. This implies that the change is required not in the system but within us. At this point, we identified the origin of the disturbance, and now, the time is to work on that in every possible way.

We had a beautiful conversation that day and we concluded on a few points that need some kind of implementation in our workplaces by us. Trust me, if anyone among us will incorporate those kinds of habits in their workplaces, then, we all will get connected to our workplaces, and will enjoy being there.

Let me share with you those Tiny Habits for our Workplaces.

  1. While leaving your home for work, say to yourself “It is going to be a great day”. (Affirmations work in a miraculous way).
  2. Be early at least 10–15 minutes at your work as this will give you some time to get settled at your workplace.
  3. Greet each other with a smile.
  4. Get connected with the blue-collar staff and greet them as well.
  5. Make sure your sitting place should be clean. Sit there silently for the first ‘5’ minutes before starting your work.
  6. Write down the tasks you need to perform by the day.
  7. If there is a possibility, play good relaxing music on your system or mobile at a low volume (by not disturbing others).
  8. Try to invest 20–30 mins for your passion within your working hours. (This will help you love your workplace because you have connected your workplace and passion).
  9. In the evening, when it is time to leave the workplace, wrap up your work at least 10 minutes before and then relax. Leave your workplace with a positive attitude every evening.

You know, we can love any place if it is providing comfort to us. Therefore, my point is when we are not getting comfort from others/outside, then we should take charge of ourselves and try to turn the table in our favor by making the comforting and soothing things for ourselves.

Important Tip: “Take Your Responsibility”.
