Today, we are living in the most comfortable era. We have heard this quote from various sources like our elder ones and senior citizens. The question here is that if we are the most comfortable generation then why we are witnessing a rise in depression cases, anxiety cases, and even a big increase in suicidal cases. What is the cause of all this? This is implying that we are not the most comfortable generation.

Ok, comfortable is having so many definitions. It varies from person to person. For some, comfort means materialistic pleasure and convenience. For others, it revolves around connecting with nature and feeling grounded. For some, it is more about food and beverages. So, it varies.

In this era, we are having so much materialistic comfort. But if we talk about peace and mental comfort, that is not approachable easily.

Every one of us longs for mental peace but is unaware of where it has gone. So, from the experiences, I have observed one thing, if we go back to our childhood times, there was a certain level of peace around us. We watched the television, played with our friends, pursued our hobbies and managed to study as well. In school, we were happy and energetic. We do not feel tired at all. We spend a lot of time sitting within our families too. Now, where is that energy?

The major contributing factor behind this is that we are draining our energies in countless ways by exploring innumerable sources of entertainment, knowledge, shopping, and many more. We spend a lot of time exploring the perfect option for us and still, we don’t feel satisfaction. Let me share a very basic example here: when we were kids, there are only one or two channels on the television and we sat together and watched whatever is available. But. with the increase in the number of channels on the TV, we just drain our energy on exploring the best option rather than enjoying anything. Due to that, we again, don't feel satisfied and relaxed. We feel tired.

So, trying not to surround yourself with a lot of options in your life. It is good to have a perfect life, but perfect life is not about having perfect things, it is about making the things perfect what you have. Try to work on things that you have rather than being busy exploring more options.
